I will always stick with these Dove Beauty Bars, White, 4 oz bars. These bars are listed as 4 oz but 3.75 oz bars are shipped to me. Why?Have used Dove for over 20 years. Very satisfied.I normally purchase the Dove Sensitive Skin because I don’t like an odor in my soap but you can almost watch it disappearing in the soap dish. This was on sale so I gave it a try and it lasts much longer and I can live with the odor just to get more use from a bar of soap… or is that a “beauty bar”? Soap isn’t inexpensive anymore and I’m cheap so at about a buck a bar I’m getting a lot more soap use and have no complaints with Dove since I’ve been using it for about 50-years. The only thing that has changed noticeably is how long it lasts and there must have been a lot of science applied to get a bar to dissolve while it sits in the dish.I grew up using Dove soap, as my mom uses it (and still does). I don't have super sensitive skin, but because I've grown up on this moisturizing soap, if I try another brand I always feel itchy afterwards. Dove never leaves me with itchy skin. I've tried several varieties over the years but inevitably I return to my old stand-by, Dove (white). Dove makes my skin so soft, often in the summer I can go without lotion and still have silky legs. It's gentle and soothing, a perfect end to a winter day as the soap hydrates chapped skin. Our house goes through a lot of it, as it's the only soap we both use, but it's well worth it. Don't waste your time with store brands or other imitators either; I've tried several and none of them were as moisturizing as Dove. (Plus some of those more generic brands don't smell that great.) The Dove scent is nice, fresh, refreshing and appealing for both men and women.Bottom line? I'll use this soap everyday for the rest of my life - and I'm fine with that! :)For a long time I used nothing but body wash in the shower. It just became a habit to go for the bottle, instead of the bar. One day a local store had Dove Bar Soap on sale, and so I took advantage of that to pick up a couple of bars. As soon as I unwrapped a bar to place in the shower, the scent took me back to to when my grandmother used Dove, and how nice it always smelled when I would suds up the cloth or simply wash my hands. Also, I have always battled dry skin, and once I started using Dove again, I noticed that my skin was softer, less dry. Since then, Dove Bar has been my go to choice for the shower, and those bottles of body wash stay on the shelf.Having it shipped to my home for the same price I would pay in the store is a great deal.My mom always purchased Dove Bar soap...well, back then liquid soap wasn't an option. Through the years, I tried several brands of bar soap; most of them were very drying & I always went back to Dove white or Dove pink. I prefer Dove's original bar soap to most of their new varieties.I don't like liquid soaps; however, my family does. I figure why buy soap that's diluted with water when I can add my own. I don't ban all liquid soaps; I buy some for their convenience. For dry chapped hands my daughter & I use Yea, I'm a guy…and after years of using Irish Spring and other stronger scented soaps, I happened to use Dove (original white). I remember as a child, my grandmother had this in the bathroom at her house, and the smell always reminds me of her and her house. But now that I'm all grown up, I've found that this soap treats my skin better than those more harsh bars I had been using. Its smell is not feminine, in my opinion, and washes off cleanly, even with our very soft water. It can get slippery easier than some other soaps. The bar lasts for a good long time with daily use, and Amazon.com's bulk pricing is quite good. Overall, I'm happy with it.
